About the Artist:

I have always been craft oriented – for a number of years I made many beautiful original needlepoints having learned techniques in Europe during my studies in several foreign languages. Five years ago, I began to make jewelry. I had a number of beautiful necklaces of semi-precious stones that had belonged to my mother. Since they had sentimental value, I did not want to sell them or give them away, so I took classes to learn different techniques such as wire wrapping, crocheting with silver and gold wire and sculpting with wire. I made several pieces from my mother’s jewelry that I wear and enjoy and began making more jewelry. I love the texture and quality of stones. I have a good eye for mixing colors, shapes and forms, and use high quality pearls, semi-precious stones, swarovski crystals, sterling silver, vermeil, gold filled beads and clasps. When my husband and I travel, I purchase unique, high quality beads and pearls from specialty stores.

Often, I am stopped by people asking me where I bought a necklace, bracelet or earrings I am wearing. When I reply I made them, I am asked if I would sell the item to them or make another piece for them. I have sold some of my designs to people in New York City, Florida & Santa Fe and have received calls from these people informing me of compliments they have received as to the jewelry they are wearing. I am impassioned about my jewelry making. Each piece of my jewelry is hand made by me and created from my own imagination and ideas.

I appreciate your time reading about my history and passion with designing and creating specialized jewelry.
